Enhanced Wood Upgrades
Stocks and forends are made of the finest quality walnut from centuries-old trees. Each blank is carefully selected and classified individually. Before being made into stocks, the blanks are subjected to a long drying process. After that, our expert stock makers can create—in a few hours—custom stocks and forends, exactly matching the technical specifications and requirements of each shooter. Wood grades are named after their models, however, all shotguns can have upgraded wood if desired.
Enhanced Wood Grades
The higher the number in the list, the higher the grade of wood you choose, with 1 being the lowest, and 7 the highest.
Upon completing an order for a new Perazzi, you have the opportunity to visit the factory in Italy. Here clients can personally select the wood blank for their gun, taking into account the different grains and styles. If a particular wood grade is above the standard for your chosen model, you can choose to upgrade your order there and then.
Once your wood is selected, the magic begins.
Choosing Your Wood Grade
The first step in owning a new Perazzi shotgun is a personal one, choosing the grade of wood you would like the stock to be made from. Each gun has a standard finish specific to that model; however, there are other wood grades that can be picked at request. These are shown above.
Fitting Your Stock
Each customer will have a gun fitting session with the fabulously experienced Perazzi gun-fitters. You will have your measurements recorded and the opportunity to test those measurements on a configured try stock in the Testing Tunnel. Your shooting and pattern will be observed and amendments will be made to the try stock until you are happy with every measurement. These measurements will be recorded and your stock will go through the first preparation stage where it will be taken from a block of wood and sculpted into a blank stock to your measurements.
The Finished Product
You will return to the factory the next day and will see how your stock has taken shape overnight. Once all the fine detailing of the stock has been completed as per your requirements (chequering/inlays etc), your stock will be finished and fitted to your gun, ready to be sent to the UK for you.
